We recently caught up with NSW based Indie punk lords st.sinner to discuss their new single and much more!
When did you start writing music?
I started writing songs when I was about 10. They weren’t any good. BUT that’s where I started. Ten years old and writing songs about love. Mental.
What motivates your song writing?
I went through like phases of what was motivating to me. But I guess late 2018 I started to wanna write about what I really thought was important. I felt like I found my message in digging into my sense of who I am.
What is the inspiration behind your new single?
We’re all going to hell is essentially just a middle finger to people telling you that you can’t be EXACTLY who you want. I guess it was the looks I’d get or comments I heard about the way my generation expresses themselves.
Tell us 5 words that best describe you as an artist?
Loud.
Expressive.
Honest.
Passionate.
Impulsive.
What is the first album you ever bought?
This is something I am so damn proud of. I bought Maroon 5’s Songs About Jane. And it SLAPS. High key one of the best records ever released. Not even gonna hide it.
What is your favourite hobby outside of music?
I love to make clothes, like design them and cut them up and sew stuff to them. Fashion is such an expressive art form and I just love being able to show how I’m doing by what I’m wearing.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
I think being able to hear EXACTLY who I am on a record with these songs. That’s the highlight. I can really hear ME and I am so proud of that. Getting 30k streams on the first single was pretty mental too though.
What is your strangest experience as a musician?
I have stayed in some air bnb’s with my band and had some pretty strange experiences with those boys. I think just being remotely around my band encourages strange situations.
What is some advice you would give to young musicians starting out?
If you want it. If this is really what you want. Stick at it. Through all of the things that come up and hold you back just keep going. That’s the only sure fire way to make it.
What is the plan for the rest of 2021?
SHOWS SHOWS SHOWS. I’m gonna be coming to a stage near you and everyone. I just want to pump out as many live shows as I can in as many places I can. I just want to meet the people that relate to the music and get silly with them!
New single We’re All Going To Hell is available on all good online stores and streaming services!
