Endless Boogie is New York’s best kept secret in the rock scene. With a name taken to match their style, it’s no wonder why Australian fans patiently await their return for Boogie 2017. We were fortunate enough to get a few moments with guitarist, Paul Major aka Top Dollar. From beer to boogie to a new album, Endless Boogie is sure to entertain.
You’re no strangers to Australia, what excites you most about coming back?
Seeing our friends, being about as far away from the USA as possible for awhile, knowing all kinds of cool scenes are gonna go down but not knowing the details in advance. This’ll be our fourth jag in OZ and the track record so far is undeniably ace.
Who are taking on tour with you across Australia?
We’re excited to be doing shows with Strand Of Oaks, especially looking forward to hanging with them at Boogie 2017.
What are you most looking forward to about Boogie 2017?
Besides laying down heavy jams and rocking with familiar faces, we look forward to stumbling about all night having freaky scenes with people until the sun comes up.
It states in your Facebook bio that Endless Boogie goes well with beer. What kind of beer would Endless Boogie be and why?
We went through an extended Presidente phase in the early days of the band but really, we are whatever beer you are drinking when you come to one of our live shows. Why? Accuracy.
Can you tell us a bit about Vibe Killer without giving it all away?
There’s an imaginary party that really happened, a Kiss gig at a kite festival in 1974, some bishops running around, Don Rickles, of course… some secret backwards messages buried in the mix with a tasty prize for whomever finds them.
What’s your favorite track off of Vibe Killer? Any particular reason why?
Don Rickles shows up in track two, offered for a very reasonable price. Not free, but much cheaper than you’d expect for an encounter with such a titan of humanity.
Other than the exciting release of Vibe Killer in May, what else can we expect from Endless Boogie in 2017?
Don’t know the specifics yet, but we intend to keep killing vibes all year, whenever the opportunity arises.
You’ll be one of the last bands to perform at the historic Newtown Social Club which closes its doors just a few days later. How does that feel?
Feels like the timing is right, a few days later and we would’ve missed out on the historic moment vibes… sad to see a rocking room fade away but jacked to get in there one more time.
When Endless Boogie isn’t working on music what are they doing?
Dealing with all the real life angles everybody has to wipe off the map in order to get sideways and free. Always looking for more time to rock. Enduring the mundane knowing it’ll get blown away once the jams start.
What makes Endless Boogie, well, boogie?
Having so much killer music jammed into our heads all our lives and being able to spew some back out at the world. This is not a band with any objectives of success or strategy, it’s all about getting down in the moment, jumping off the edge of the world and seeing what’s out there.
Would you like to say anything to your Australian fan base?
It’s party time, doncha know… bring your friends.
Be sure to catch Endless Boogie and Strand of Oaks as they tour across Australia next month!
