GOSFORD’S KID ZR0 TURN P!NK AND ANNOUNCE SYDNEY SHOW
“Holy crap! P!NK just tweeted our video!”
It’s a pretty good day for 15-year-old Brandon Alexander as he stares at his phone and watches the band’s social media numbers tick up just two weeks after going online for the first time. Their YouTube video they recorded of P!nk’s hit ‘Just Like Fire’ has not only caught the attention of new fans across Australia, but it’s caught the attention of the artist herself.
Now thousands of followers later, Kid Zr0 have announced their first inner-city headline show in Sydney on Saturday October 29 at The Lair @ The Metro.
Brandon’s band Kid Zr0 was formed just six short months ago in Gosford on New South Wales’ Central Coast. Arriving from the UK with his parents as migrants, he got into the Central Coast’s vibrant music scene as a teen, joining with fellow Brit guitarist Jamie Bailey (18) and born and bred ‘Coasties’, drummer Baily Graeber (16), bass player Lee Hackney (17) and rhythm guitarist Jacob Richardson (17). The five piece met at a Gosford music school affectionately known as ‘Rock God High’ and their path was set.
The band have created some amazing originals as well as had fun covering some of their favourites from the charts, honing their musical chops quickly and using social media to spread the gospel according to Kid Zr0.
It’s just the beginning of their journey, but following the incredible fortune of having their track discovered by P!nk, the wheels of the journey have started to turn with the band inking management with Australian legends Michael Browning (INXS, AC/DC) and Brent Jeffery (Bright Yellow, Little Earthquake).
The journey for Kid Zr0 has just begun, but with an undeniable rock sensibility and a love of hooks surpassed only by their love of girls and parties, Australia is set to follow P!nk in discovering their new favourite ‘Kids’.
