Are you familiar with Krafty Kuts? If not, now is a stellar time to discover the king of breaks himself. Hailing from Brighton, UK, Matin Reeves aka Krafty Kuts is gearing up to release his third studio album, All 4 Corners along with Dynamite MC. Set to release on the 19th of May, All 4 Corners is sure to please the ears of old, young, and all those in between. With features from Example, Harry Shoutta, Erb n Dub, Foreign Beggers, Chali 2na of Jurassic 5, and Ivan Ooze, how could this album be anything short of superb?
The album leads in with Big Blau and what a way to get it going as it incorporates intense funk and the signature breaks of Krafty Kuts of years passed. Sign me up if the next fourteen tracks are anything similar to the lead in. It’s tough to keep the energy going throughout an album, but track after track proves that Krafty Kuts has it dialled in. This brings us to the first single, “War Is Over”, the most hyped track from the album. It can be heard why this was chosen as the first single off All 4 Corners. Not only does it bring teeth gritting beats, but also the masterful verses of Example, Harry Shotta, and Erb n Dub. Without question this is the catchiest and most intense track amongst the fifteen song album. If anything, it only gets wilder from here and that’s the way the album needs to go. With tracks like “Rollercoaster” and “Al Pachino”, it’s no wonder why Krafty Kuts has built such a wide following worldwide. “Honey Bee” is a slight change of style, but fits the bill well as variety definitely doesn’t hurt the overall experience of this album. All 4 Corners comes to a close with “Can I Get” featuring Ivan Ooze. If you’re going to conclude an album, this is the way to do it, catchy and still wanting just a few more measures. One would be foolish not to run out to your local music store and grab a copy of All 4 Corners when it’s released later this week.
