Halloween – Bogota Style

Halloween :

Halloween in Bogota, Columbia is usually a massive affair. But not this year. Still a group of friends managed to keep alive the tradition and since I am incredibly hung up on the night, it was great to have some fun in an otherwise shocking year.

For me Halloween is a night where you can dress up and be free to be whoever you are, to relax and let your inner you out! I know I always do!

We decided to walk the streets to the party. There were witches, devils, some demons, bloody nuns, skeleton…the usual crew. It was full on and you could say we provided some entertainment for weary drivers and sad pedestrians.

I was ripped off. There should have been a costume contest, as I clearly had the best costume. By the evening it had grown on me.I had worn it to work. I wore it everywhere. It didn’t come off easily.

At least I had bragging rights for another year. Halloween in Columbia happened inspite of everything. Only very small to keep our tradition alive.
